Trinity Financial Consulting is a nationwide commercial financing consultancy that helps churches buy, build, refinance, and renovate their facilities. Trinity is not a lender — it’s the church’s advocate in the commercial lending marketplace, working to place each church with the right lender, at the right terms, structure, and covenants.
Relieve pastors of financial stress so they can focus on growing disciples.
That mission is grounded in a real, measurable problem: roughly 75% of the pastors Trinity works with have carried a financial burden for two to five years before making contact — some for six. Trinity often resolves it within about six months. The mission is protective as much as it is transactional — meeting the need today while protecting the church from tomorrow, in a market where churches are estimated to be taken advantage of 30 to 40% of the time, not through anything illegal, simply because no one told them what they actually had.
David Pack started in commercial financing in January 1990. He spent 14 years at Chrysler Financial Services and 14 years at Fifth Third Bank, where he began as a client service manager and rose to senior development manager and market president, lending nearly $5 billion over his career. From inside the banking system, he watched traditional lenders steadily exit church lending — 9 of 10 would write a church loan in 2008, 6 of 10 by 2016. In 2016, he left a substantial compensation package that included stock options and bonuses to start Trinity Financial Consulting with nothing, understanding it as an assignment: churches were going to need an advocate who understood the lending market from the inside, as traditional lenders continued pulling back. By 2026, that trend has continued — only 2 of 10 traditional lenders write church loans today.
Christ-first is the operating principle behind Trinity, not a slogan. Integrity is treated as a hard rule: if David wouldn’t sign for a deal himself, he won’t put a church into it — which is why Trinity does no secondary-market placements and no bond deals, which typically carry 7% origination fees. That filter costs Trinity money every time it’s applied, since the firm’s fee is a percentage of loan size. Stewardship runs the same way at every size of deal: David closed a $75,000 unsecured line of credit for a small church, then closed a $17.6 million placement for another church six weeks later — bringing the same preparation and energy to both.
Trinity Financial Consulting was founded in Indiana in 2016 by David and Robin Pack. David owns 90% of the business and leads every client engagement; Robin owns the remaining 10% and manages marketing and the books, alongside a retained CPA. Traci Bowman serves as Senior Vice President of Kingdom Living and Wealth Building, Trinity’s financial coaching and stewardship program for congregations — see Kingdom Living & Wealth Building. David holds an accounting degree from Indiana State University (1989) and served 15 years in the Army Reserve, 8 of them as a commissioned officer. Trinity closes 20 to 25 client engagements a year, and David is actively working with a candidate from one of his lender relationships as a potential successor, with the intent that Trinity Financial Consulting outlasts him.
Trinity works with churches nationwide, and the practice is built around them — churches make up the large majority of Trinity’s engagements, ranging from congregations giving $500,000 a year to multi-campus ministries running $20 million facility projects.
